The Good Egg book cover - Jory John and Pete Oswald

Hey there! Just finished reading The Good Egg with my little one, and I have to say—it’s an instant classic in our house. The story’s got this warm, funny vibe that pulls kids right in (yep, even the squirmy ones!).

What really got me was how it handles a pretty big idea—self-care—without ever feeling heavy. There’s this moment where the egg just… stops trying to be perfect. My kid looked up and said, “That’s like me sometimes.” 🥹

We’re big fans of Jory John’s books—The Bad Seed and The Cool Bean are also totally worth picking up. And can we talk about Pete Oswald’s art? There’s a banana wearing a hat. Enough said. 😂

Seriously though, if your kids are ever feeling the pressure, this book is a gentle reminder that it’s okay to take a breath. We got our copy from —they’ve got a sweet collection of kids’ books that actually mean something.
